Being an Aldi Caretaker/Cleaner

Our Caretakers/Cleaners are vital to our business. Everything they do contributes to the success of our stores. Because when everything’s clean and in its place, the customer experience and store atmosphere is so much more enjoyable. By maintaining the cleanliness of all areas of our Stores, our Caretakers/Cleaners play such a varied role involving some physical tasks with some bending and lifting included.


Market leading package

As an Aldi Caretaker or Cleaner, you’ll earn £9.00 per hour. If you’re in London, you’ll get £10.55 per hour. You’ll also receive a premium rate for working nights, and double pay for any hours worked on Bank Holidays.

Work-life balance

While we expect you to be flexible, you can expect the same from us. And we’ll always make sure you have some hours every week. Which is why we give our Caretakers and Cleaners a flexible contract of 10 to 30 hours per week.

We do things a certain way at Aldi. Which requires a certain type of person. To make sure you’ve got what it takes, we’ll ask you to complete three simple steps.


Online application

Questions such as "What hours are you looking for?" will help us see if you're right for the opportunities we have. We'll also test key skills such as mental arithmetic, judgement or memory. Once you've submitted your application, our hiring managers will screen your answers.


Interview or Group Assessment

With an Area Manager in a store where you'll be asked a series of questions and scenarios relating to the job role you have applied for.


Aldi Store Experience

Following a successful interview you will be invited to take part in the 'Aldi Store Experience' where you'll get the chance to observe the different tasks that you would be expected to complete in role.
