You're always appreciated for doing your best  and working hard.
Raj, Section Leader
  • Darlington Regional Distribution Centre
  • Joined Aldi in 2002

I’ve worked at Aldi for over 17 years. I started as cleaner, but it wasn’t long before my hard work was noticed and I was offered a job as a Selector in the warehouse. That’s always been one of the great things about Aldi – you’re always appreciated for doing your best and working hard.

Now I look after our Specialbuys, in a team of around 40 people. We work in a slightly different way from other areas as we have to plan much more in advance. We need to know what’s coming in so that we can prepare the right space and transport.

Specialbuys are some of our best-selling products in our stores, so we have to make sure everything’s spot on.   For me, the best part of my role is the teamwork. As a Section Leader, we do one-to-ones and reviews, but I really enjoy developing people. All the managers do – there’s a real sense of being in it together.

It's good to be part of something  that's growing so quickly.
John, Selector
  • Mitchelstown Regional Distribution Centre
  • Joined Aldi in 2014

My tasks for the day depend on when I start my shift. I might take instructions through my headset and ‘pick’ stock, or I might load it on the right pallets for the drivers. Ultimately, I make sure the right products are ready to be transported to our stores.

It’s incredibly fast-paced here. But Aldi’s a fast-paced business. It’s always growing. When I joined, the warehouse only serviced about half of the stores we do now. Since the time I have been here, Aldi have continued to expand. It’s good to be part of something that’s growing so quickly.

Aldi feels so unique to anywhere I’ve worked before. There are all kinds of people working here, all with different skills and perspectives. You feel really proud to be part of the Aldi family.

The support and culture is  second-to-none.
Jo, Logistics Assistant
  • Cardiff Regional Distribution Centre
  • Joined Aldi in 2017

My day usually starts with a brief from my Section Leader. Then I'm ready to start with my shift. I strip pallets and get them ready to be distributed, but I also keep an eye out for any health and safety issues as I work.

In my region, we service around 70 stores, so it's a really busy job. I'm constantly on the go. But it's great- I'm never bored and everyone helps each other out. That's actually one of the reasons I love working here. The support and culture is second-to-none. You don't really feel like you're going to work- you feel like you're going to meet friends.

When the pressure's on, everyone comes together and helps out. For me, looking after a business means looking after people. And that's exactly what Aldi does.
