Aldi is growing. Quickly. And Real Estate plays a pivotal supporting role. Because with growth like this, there’s a real need to build up our Real Estate portfolio of stores, Regional Distribution Centres, warehouse and freezer environments, as well as National offices.
We deal with everyone from local councils to architects, developing strong relationships and creating robust project plans that fulfil our ambitious targets. Many of the projects we run are on fully active sites, so there are a lot of challenges to overcome. It means you’ll join a team that offers a lot of variety - not to mention exciting learning curves.
As one of the UK’s fastest growing supermarket chains, we’re opening new stores at lightning speed. It means our Real Estate Teams are always kept on their toes and everything needs to run smoothly.
This role offers an enormous breadth of responsibility during a busy and exciting time for Aldi. Essentially, you’ll be expanding and improving our store network: identifying and recommending sites to the Managing Director, negotiating the purchase, sale or rental agreement, determining the site layout and appointing the team who will make it all happen.
There’s a huge amount of variety too. You might be dealing with a relatively small store extension or a multi-million pound development involving a huge team of consultants and suppliers. Whatever the project, you’ll make sure there’s minimal disruption, strong due diligence and accurate accounts. You’ll be skilled in dealing with councils – and the public – when submitting planning applications. Added to that, you’ll take care of everything from authorising Real Estate adverts and appointing Real Estate agents to implementing safety measures and structural checks.
You’ll have a talented team to support you, and you’ll be relied on to keep them motivated and performing to their best ability. As you would expect there are plenty of personnel duties too, for example, authorising holidays, organising training and carrying out performance reviews.
Massive change. Incredible growth. Huge responsibility. An opportunity in Real Estate that’s hard to beat.

You’ll work closely with the National Real Estate Director in the National Head Office to ensure the completion of new sites under construction, store extensions, refurbishments and the acquisition of brand new sites. Whatever the challenge, the Director can rely on you to ensure a smooth and efficient process, minimal disruption to the business, strong due diligence and accurate accounts.
You’ll be the eyes and ears of the Director, feeding back the status of every project, as well as liaising with the site team, auditors or external bodies. Because of you, all aspects of store design are checked to meet exacting Aldi specifications, UK design standards and all the relevant Building Regulations.
It’s a role that’s full of challenge and responsibility at a time when Aldi’s growth shows no sign of stopping. Perfect for a talented Real Estate Manager.
